ARTIST LETTER NO. 21
What's Actually in the Way
On becoming the person who can hold the breakthrough.
Hi there,
This week I had a realization that reordered something in me.
I've spent a lot of years working toward things—
Building.
Creating.
Showing up.
Doing the work.
And sometimes wondering, why hasn't it happened yet?
I used to think I needed to do more. Learn more. Push harder. Be more visible.
But this week, I saw it differently.
What if the breakthrough I've been waiting for has been waiting for me?
Not for me to work harder.
For me to become the person who can actually hold it.
Last week I wrote about timelines converging, how the future we're building is also building us.
This week, I felt the other side of that.
Sometimes the future is ready.
But we're not — yet.
There's a big difference between wanting something and being able to receive it.
Between building the dream and having the capacity to sustain it.
I've been upgrading my internal operating system lately.
Not the external stuff, like the strategies, the platforms, or the visibility.
But the internal stuff.
The old patterns that kept me playing small. The unconscious beliefs that said "not yet" or "not you."
The places where I was still holding back my own power, without realizing it.
Sometimes the thing we want is ready.
The opportunity. The abundance. The people.
But our system isn't ready to hold that much bandwidth.
So, it stays just out of reach, not as punishment, but as protection.
Until we upgrade.
And I trust that what I'm building — inside and out — is preparing me for what's next.
If you've been working and wondering why it hasn't landed yet, maybe it's not about doing more.
Maybe it's about becoming more of who you already are.
The upgrade before the breakthrough.
With love,
Kristen
